Back to Belmore Incorporated has launched a revamped range of merchandise to celebrate and promote the exciting upgrade to Belmore Sports Ground.
The upgrade that Back to Belmore Inc. has been pushing for since 2005 is finally coming to fruition, with work commencing on the $8.4 million redevelopment at the home of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
However, not to rest on their laurels, the Back to Belmore group is upping the ante on the Belmore issue by expanding the merchandise range available to supporters of Belmore Sports Ground.
"We want to keep the continued upgrade of Belmore Sports Ground on the agenda of all levels of Government and our merchandise range will help to raise awareness," said Back to Belmore President Luke Brailey.
"The construction that's taking place at this time is wonderful, but we need to ensure that this is just the beginning of Belmore's revival and that we can optimise the positive influences local sport has on our district by bringing local sporting groups to work closer together to provide a sporting pathway for the Canterbury-Bankstown region," said Vice President Luke Cevolani.
The Back to Belmore range has expanded to include extra items including a new polo shirt, bucket hat, fleece hoodie, pullover hoodie, singlet and tracksuit jacket.
Back to Belmore Incorporated has also helped to raise awareness of its movement by sponsoring the Under 19s St. Johns Eagles in the Canterbury Bankstown Junior Rugby League and the aptly named Back to Belmore team in the Peakhurst Touch Association.
"The sponsorship of the St. Johns Eagles rugby league and Back to Belmore touch football teams is a very proud moment for our movement and it's wonderful to see the Back to Belmore logo emblazoned on the jerseys of such great local teams," said Mr. Brailey.
The new merchandise range complements the redevelopment of Belmore Sports Ground, which will see the historic venue transformed from a facility largely unfit for community use into a top class multi-purpose sporting facility including the provision of elite training facilities for the Bulldogs and local sporting groups in the community that wish to use the amenities.
It incorporates a new gymnasium, administrative offices and video conferencing room, upgrade of the existing change rooms and amenities and conversion of the existing function room to a Community Function Room.
Those wishing to support the Back to Belmore movement can find out more about the new merchandise range on the Back to Belmore website, or e-mail merchandise@backtobelmore.com.au
