Belmore Sports Ground played host to another chapter in its storied rugby league history on Saturday afternoon, as the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs took on the Gold Coast Titans before a crowd of 6,874 fans.

While the Bulldogs fell short in a 32-10 defeat, the occasion once again demonstrated the special role Belmore continues to play in the life of the community and the broader rugby league landscape.

Among the guests in attendance were Back to Belmore Patron Luke Brailey and Ambassador Hamza Anwer, who were both hosted in the Executive Suite by Bulldogs Chair Lynne Anderson and CEO Andrew Hill.

Mr Brailey said the afternoon reflected the enduring goodwill between the two entities and the relationship continues to thrive because of a shared vision for the historic venue.

"We are incredibly grateful for the gracious invitation extended to us by the Bulldogs," Mr Brailey said.

"Our presence in the Executive Suite symbolised not only mutual respect, but the genuine affection that still exists between the Bulldogs and Back to Belmore. What binds us is our commitment to Belmore's future. We may be separate entities, but we are united by common values and a long-standing belief that Belmore Sports Ground deserves to reach its full potential as a community and sporting hub."

The match marked the seventh NRL fixture played at Belmore since the ground's return to premiership rugby league in 2015. Despite the on-field result, the atmosphere remained festive, with local retailers once again benefiting from the match-day trade and the unmistakable energy that only Belmore delivers.

The Bulldogs will return to Belmore Sports Ground in Round 17 when they host the Canberra Raiders on Saturday, 7 July.
