Back to Belmore Welcomes Appointment of New Bulldogs CEO
Media Statement
13 March 2008
Back to Belmore has welcomed the appointment today of Todd Greenberg as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Bulldogs, calling it a fresh opportunity to build a stronger relationship between the club and the Belmore community.
Mr Greenberg brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the Bulldogs' operations manager from 1998 to 2001 before holding a senior role at ANZ Stadium as commercial operations manager since 2002.
The appointment comes just weeks after the Bulldogs formally vacated Belmore Sports Ground as their training and administrative base, ending an era that stretched back more than seventy years.
Back to Belmore President Luke Brailey said the timing of the leadership change presented an important chance to re-engage on the future of the club's spiritual home.
"Todd Greenberg's appointment gives us real cause for optimism," Mr Brailey said.
"As someone who has worked within the Bulldogs before, we believe he understands the deep connection the club's supporters - and the wider Canterbury-Bankstown community - have with Belmore."
Mr Brailey said the recent departure of the club's football and administrative operations from Belmore had been met with disappointment, but also with renewed determination from the community.
"Belmore is more than bricks and turf - it's history, identity and pride. We are hopeful that under Todd's leadership, there will be a greater willingness to explore ways for the Bulldogs to return to their rightful home."
He added that Back to Belmore would be seeking an early meeting with Mr Greenberg to discuss the organisation's vision and ongoing advocacy.
Since 2005, Back to Belmore has led a grassroots push to restore Belmore Sports Ground as a community sporting hub and secure its place as a top-class sporting facility.
