Back to Belmore President Luke Brailey announced at the 2012 Annual General Meeting last night that Oltan Akdogan, a volunteer youth leader, has been appointed to the executive committee. Mr Akdogan will serve as a member of the committee replacing Mark Cevolani, who announced his resignation last week.
"Oltan's in-depth knowledge of our organisation and passion for Belmore Sports Ground will make him a valuable addition to the Back to Belmore executive committee," said Mr Brailey.
"Back to Belmore is currently in its 8th year of service to the Canterbury-Bankstown community as the leading advocate for the restoration and preservation of Belmore Sports Ground. We have played a small but pivotal role in the historic venue's transformation and having our key committee members focused on the continued success of our organisation and Belmore Sports Ground as a multi-purpose sporting facility will continue to ensure that we deliver a better future for the District's aspiring athletes."
Mr Akdogan joined Back to Belmore in 2008 as a volunteer assisting with the organisation's operations. The following year he was named volunteer youth leader, playing a crucial part in the development of the organisation's young volunteers by broadening their horizons and organising key activities for Back to Belmore.
