RESTORING and preserving Belmore Sports Ground is in great hands with Luke Brailey.
The president of community group Back To Belmore has been on a 10-year crusade to get Belmore Sports Ground into shape to be used as a multipurpose sporting facility.
The group has been instrumental in upgrades to the main grandstand in 2010 as well as lobbying for further works to the ground.
"We basically support Belmore Sports Ground being a multipurpose facility for the community," Mr Brailey said.
"We formed in 2005 and have seven board members.
"We are not about bringing the Bulldogs back to Belmore, but about using the facility for the whole community."
Mr Brailey has been nominated by The Express for the Fair Go For The West Champions of the West sport category.
Back To Belmore runs several clinics throughout the year around Canterbury for children.
"Our mission is to inspire our young athletes as well as have equipment accessible to them in the local area," he said.
Mr Brailey now wants to ensure the facility is open to several sports in the long term with kids able to express their talents.
