Bulldogs going back to Belmore

By Dean Ritchie

29 September 2014 - The Daily Telegraph

CANTERBURY are shifting back to Belmore. Well, temporarily at least. The Bulldogs yesterday announced the club would play one official NRL game at their spiritual home, Belmore Sports Ground, next season.

It is part of the club's 80th anniversary celebrations and will be the first official game to be played at Belmore since the club moved home matches to ANZ Stadium in 1999.

Belmore has so many memories for Bulldogs fans. The ground may be run down but it is still a field of dreams for Doggies supporters.

Exactly which game will be played at Belmore next season will be revealed when the NRL releases next year's draw.

"The excitement in the streets of Belmore last night and today really highlights how much the Bulldogs mean to this community and I'm thrilled to announce that we're bringing a game back to Belmore as part of our 80th anniversary celebrations next year," CEO Raelene Castle said.
