On Sunday 19 March, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs faced the Wests Tigers at Belmore Sports Ground in front of over 16,000 fans as part of the NRL's Multicultural Round. The majority of the home crowd donned blue and white and basked in the hot mid-to-high 30s temperatures as they watched the Bulldogs end their four-game losing streak at the venue with a 26-22 victory.

According to Back to Belmore patron Luke Brailey, the NRL game and the response from the Canterbury-Bankstown community were impressive. He noted that the event was a significant economic boost for local businesses, making them the day's biggest winners, regardless of one's NRL allegiance.

“While the economic impacts on the local area are absolutely incredible,” noted Brailey, “it was also great for kids and families to have this kind of opportunity to come together to celebrate the iconic venue's rich history and the amazing cultural diversity of the Canterbury-Bankstown district. There is a tremendous amount of civic pride associated with the premiership matches at Belmore Sports Ground and the Bulldogs should be commended for consistently embracing their spiritual heartland. It was a marvellous occasion not to be missed.”

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to Belmore Sports Ground on July 15th for Round 20, where they will face off against the Brisbane Broncos.
