The Back to Belmore executive committee has officially confirmed volunteer leader Hamza Anwer as the organisation's new brand ambassador.
Last night, the governing body formally named the young athlete from Punchbowl and former "NRL Rookie" contestant as the latest member of its exclusive list of brand ambassadors which includes ex-NRL star Daniel Conn, fitness model Juan Pablo Coreo and US College football player Brock Davies.
As a brand ambassador, Mr Anwer will promote Back to Belmore's clothing line across multiple social media platforms and represent the brand at various events.
The 23-year-old called it an honour to be one of the brand ambassadors.
"Back to Belmore plays an important role in the management and promotion of local sport, as well as providing a pathway and assistance to local talent through the ground as a multi-purpose sporting facility," Mr Anwer said.
"I'm proud to be a part of an organisation that aims to optimise the positive influences that sport has on the community."
Back to Belmore President Luke Cevolani said the executive committee is very happy with their new ambassador, saying the long-serving volunteer aligns very well with the organisation's ethos and the brand's local grassroots messaging.
"Hamza's presence and encouragement will motivate many young athletes to pursue sport," Mr Cevolani said.
"We are very delighted to welcome Hamza as our brand ambassador. He is the most ideal person to represent our brand here in the Canterbury-Bankstown district. Hamza is the quintessential choice to represent our movement's passion for local sport. His enthusiasm and dedication over many years as a Back to Belmore volunteer are second to none and his reputation as a gentleman of unimpeachable integrity represents an incredibly high standard."
