BACK To Belmore, a community organisation that has been advocating for the use of Belmore Sports Ground for more than a decade, has backed Canterbury Bankstown Council's plan for the precinct.
The council has flagged an ambitious plan to transform the area, including the home of the Canterbury Bulldogs, into a livelier place featuring improved sporting and entertainment facilities.
The masterplan will include better connections between Campsie and Belmore railway stations, improved Belmore Sport Ground and associated fields, cafes and public amenities.
A Back To Belmore spokesman said: "Canterbury Bankstown Council's proposed plan is a critical investment in the future of Belmore, which will deliver a long-term benefit to the local area by providing a much-needed outlet for our culturally diverse community to empower people to get active, play sport and have fun."
Consultations on the Belmore masterplan are to be completed by December 31.
