BACK to Belmore's newest brand ambassador, Hamza Anwer, admits he was pretty flattered when he was offered the role late last year.
The young athlete from Punchbowl and former NRL Rookie contestant joins the group's other brand ambassadors, ex-NRL star Daniel Conn, fitness model Juan Pablo Coreo and homegrown US college football player Brock Davies.
"I understood it was a pretty big undertaking and I was also honoured and humbled," Anwer said.
The role includes promoting the Back to Belmore clothing line across multiple social media platforms and representing the brand at various events and the 23-year-old says he isn't worried about people watching him more closely.
"I do like to consider myself as a role model, especially for younger players and I have always been aware of the responsibility that comes with that," he said.
"I have always wanted that responsibility on my shoulders. I don't ever feel like I am going to crumble, I feel like I am going to rise.
"I'm proud to be a part of an organisation that aims to optimise the positive influences that sport has on the community."
Back to Belmore president Luke Cevolani described him as "the quintessential choice to represent our movement's passion for local sport".
"His enthusiasm and dedication over many years as a Back to Belmore volunteer are second to none and his reputation as a gentleman of unimpeachable integrity represents an incredibly high standard," he said.
